ఆయన తెలంగాణ ప్రజల గుండె గొంతుకై నిలిచాడు. తుది శ్వాస వరకు నమ్మిన సిద్దాంతానికి కట్టుబడి జీవించాడు. తెలంగాణలో నీళ్లు.. నిధులు... నియామకాలు ఎలా దోపిడీకి గురవుతున్నాయో వివరించి చెప్పిన థీశాలి.. ఆయనే తెలంగాణ సిద్ధాంత కర్త ఆచార్య కొత్త పల్లి జయశంకర్.. తెలంగాణ జాతిపితగా పిలుచుకొనే ఆచార్య కొత్త పల్లి జయశంకర్ జయతి సందర్భంగా హెచ్ఎం టీవీ స్పెషల్ స్టోరీ.
ఆచార్య కొత్తపల్లి జయశంకర్.. తెలంగాణ ప్రజలకు పరిచయం అక్కరలేని పేరు. తెలంగాణ ప్రజల కడగండ్లను, కన్నీళ్లను కళ్లారా చూసి చలించిన మేథావి. ఆయన పుట్టింది పోరాటాల పురిటిగడ్డ వరంగల్ జిల్లా అక్కంపేట గ్రామం..ఈ బుద్దిశాలిని కన్న ధన్యజీవులు లక్ష్మీకాంతారావు, మహాలక్ష్మి. సాధారణ మధ్య తరగతి కుటుంబంలో జన్మించిన జయశంకర్ బడుగు జీవుల బతుకు దెరువులను అతి దగ్గరనుంచి గమనించాడు..అందుకే ఆయన తొలి అడుగు నుంచి తుది శ్వాస వరకు దగా పడ్డ బతుకులకు బాసటగా నిలిచాడు.
జయశంకర్ ప్రస్థానం ఉపాధ్యాయ వృత్తితో మొదలయింది.. వరంగల్, ఆదిలాబాద్, ఖమ్మం, మెదక్, హైదరాబాద్ జిల్లాలలో టీచర్ గా పనిచేశారు. తెలంగాణ అన్ని జిల్లాలతో ఆయనకు అనుబంధం ఉంది..ఉపాధ్యాయ వృత్తి నుంచి అంచలంచలుగా లెక్చరర్ గా, ప్రొఫెసర్ గా ఎదిగారు. అంతేకాక సీఫెల్, కాకతీయ యూనివర్సిటీ లకు రిజిస్ర్టార్ గా పనిచేశారు.1991 నుంచి 1994వరకు కాకతీయ యూనివర్సిటీకి వైస్ చాన్స్ లర్ గా బాధ్యతలు నిర్వహించారు. ప్రధాని మన్మోహన్ సింగ్ జయశంకర్ గారి ప్రతిభను గుర్తించి 2004లో జాతీయ అసంఘటిత రంగ కమీషన్ లో నియమించారు. తరువాత కాలంలో ఆపదవికి తానే స్వచ్ఛందంగా రాజీనామా చేసి ఆత్మగౌరవం కన్నా పదవి ముఖ్యం కాదని ప్రకటించారు..
జయశంకర్ గారు తెలంగాణ ఎలా కన్నీళ్లు పెడుతుందో దగ్గర్నుంచి చూడటమే కాదు. ఆయన కూడా ఆ ఆవేదనలు అనుభవించారు. ఉపధ్యాయ వృత్తిలో ఉన్నా తరగతి గదులకే పరిమితం కాలేదు. తెలంగాణ ప్రజలు పడుతున్న కష్టాలకు కారణమేంటో వివరించే ప్రయత్నం చేశారు.. ఆయన అనుభవాలు వందల పిహెచ్ డిలతో సమానం..ఆయన స్పృషించని అంశంలేదు... నీళ్లల్లో, నిధులల్లో, నియామకాల్లో సీమాంధ్ర నాయకులు తెలంగాణ ప్రాంత ప్రజలను ఎలా మభ్యపెడుతున్నారో వివరించారు.. తెలంగాణ సంస్కృతి పైనా, బాష పైన దాడి జరిగే తీరును తన అక్షరాలలో పొదివి పట్టుకున్నారు.. ఆయన రాసిన తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్రం ఒక డిమాండ్, తెలంగాణ విస్త్రుత అంగీకారం, తెలంగాణలో ఏమి జరుగుతుంది వంటి పుస్తకాలలో తెలంగాణ గతం, వర్తమానం కనిపిస్తాయి.
తెలంగాణ విముక్తి కొరకు జయశంకర్ గారు చేసిన సేవలు మరువలేనివి.. ఆయన చేసిన మేథోశ్రమ నభూతో నభవిష్యతి.. విద్యార్ధిగా ఉన్నపుడే 1952లో నాన్ ముల్కీ గో బ్యాక్ ఉద్యమంలో పాల్గొన్నారు.. 1954లో ఫజల్ అలీ కమీషన్ ముందు తెలంగాణ నుప్రత్యేక రాష్ర్టంగా ఉంచాలని గట్టిగా వాదించారు. 1955 -56 మద్యకాలంలో విశాలాంధ్ర వ్యతిరేక ఉద్యమాల్లో పాల్గొన్నారు. 1968-69లలో ప్రత్యేక తెలంగాణ ఉద్యమంలో చురుకైన పాత్రపోషించి, తెలంగాణ కోసం పనిచేసే ప్రతి శక్తిని కలుపుకోవాలని పిలుపునిచ్చారు...
1969 -1996 మధ్య కాలంలో తెలంగాణ కోసం పని చేసే సంఘాలకు, వ్యక్తులకు పెద్దదిక్కుగా నిలిచారు.. 1997లో ఉస్మానియా విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలో పురుడు పోసుకున్న తెలంగాణ ఐక్య వేదిక ద్వారా ప్రత్యక్షంగా నాయకత్వ బాధ్యతలు చేపట్టి, నాలుగు సంవత్సరాలుగా ఉద్యమాన్ని నడిపించారు.. తెలంగాణ రాష్ర్ట సమితి ఆవిర్భావ దశలోనాయకత్వాన్ని, కార్యకర్తలను, చైతన్యం పరచడంలో ఆయన పాత్ర చెప్పుకోదగ్గది. ఆర్ యస్ యు నుంచి ఆర్ యస్ యస్ వరకు తెలంగాణ కోసం ఎవరు పిలిచినా అరమరికలు లేకుండా ఉద్యమ సభల్లో పాల్గొని తన గొంతు వినిపించేవారు.
తెలంగాణ ఉద్యమం ఉవ్వెత్తున ఎగసి పడుతున్న దశలో.. తెలంగాణ ఉద్యమ సారధి కేసిఆర్ కు వెన్నుదన్నుగా ఉంటూ ..యావద్భారత రాజకీయ ప్రముఖుల మద్దతు కూడ గట్టడంలో ముఖ్యపాత్రపోషించారు జయశంకర్. తెలంగాణ రాష్ర్ట సమితి అధినేత కేసిఆర్.. జయశంకర్ గారిని తన గురువుగా చెప్పుకుంటారు... 2004 సంవత్సరం నుంచి 2009 డిసెంబర్ 9 న తెలంగాణ రాష్ర్ట ప్రకటన వెలువడే వరకు అందరు నాయకులను కలిసి తెలంగాణ రాష్ర్ట ఏర్పాటుకు ఒప్పించడంలో కేసిఆర్ తో బాటు జయశంకర్ కూడా ముఖ్యపాత్ర పోషించారు.... మూడు తరాల తెలంగాణ ప్రజల కన్నీళ్లను తడిమిన సామాజికవేత్త ఆయన. ఆయన జీవించినంత కాలం తెలంగాణ ప్రజలకోసం పోరాటం వల్ల ఆయన.. తెలంగాణ సిద్దాంత కర్తగా ప్రజల మదిలో నిలిచిపోయారు. .. ఆయన మరణానంతరం తెలంగాణ జాతిపితగా.. అమరజీవిగా చెరగని ముద్ర వేసుకున్నారు. నిజాయితీ గల సిద్దాంతకారుడికి నిలువెత్తు నిదర్శనం జయశంకర్.

Congress slams Team Anna for insulting Parliament

The Centre on Thursday tabled the Lokpal Bill in the Parliament. But it won't be a smooth sailing for the bill, with the BJP and even UPA ally DMK demanding inclusion of the Prime Minister under the Lokpal Bill.
In, what has been a season of scams and government battling charges of corruption rose to introduce the contentious anti-corruption Lokpal bill. The civil society hit the roads protesting the government draft. They burnt the draft Lokpal bill, inviting criticism from the Congress that they were insulting Parliament.
The Civil society was supported by the main Opposition party.
"IPC provides no immunity to the PM. No person on any post can be a holy cow," Sushma Swaraj said.
Even before the rukus in Parlaiment could have died down, copies of the bill were being burnt; it was direct attack on the government, replying on public pressure to force the government to change its position.
As the standing committee on law and justice now debates the Lokpal, the government is bound to face a combined assault from the BJP, the Left Front and even allies like the DMK that demand the Prime Minister should not be exempt.
Defending the draft, the man who liaised with civil society for the government, Kapil Sibal accused the BJP of political opportunism.
"The leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha nearly wanted to make a political point; this is a classic example of political opportunism." Sibal said.
The creation of an Ombudsman or a Lokpal has been attempted eight times in the last two decades. But these embarrassing images of corruption at the top, has had an adverse fallout on the India growth story.

Sonia Gandhi undergoes successful surgery in a US hospital

Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Thursday underwent successful surgery in a New York hospital for an undisclosed ailment while her son and party General Secretary Rahul Gandhi was entrusted with overseeing Congress affairs. Sonia, 64, is likely to be out of the country for three weeks.
The party kept the news of the surgery of its President a secret even as Sonia, accompanied by Rahul, had left earlier in the week to an undisclosed location in the US.
Congress leader Janaradan Dwiwedi on Thursday announced that Sonia would have to undergo surgery and would be away for weeks.
"Sonia Gandhi has been recently diagnosed with a medical condition that requires surgery. On advice from her doctors, she has travelled abroad and is likely to be away for two to three weeks," said Dwivedi.
The Congress President had not been keeping well in the past and because of her illness could not attend meetings of the Congress Core Group as also that of the Parliamentary Strategy Committee.
Meanwhile, Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, along with other three senior members, took charge of the affairs of the Congress.
Before going for the surgery, Sonia had appointed a four-member committee consisting of Rahul, along with senior party members General Secretary Dwivedi, her political aide Ahmed Patel and Defence Minister A K Antony.
Gandhi's ailment remained a matter of speculation in the absence of authentic word with the Congress party maintaining total secrecy about the country where she had travelled for the surgery along with her son.
So the big question is - in her absence, who will actually run the party?
Antony is the only Cabinet minister on the list. The government's all season firefighter Pranab Mukharjee is not there. Antony makes the cut for his squeaky clean image. Patel and Dwiwedi are there to ensure continuity in decision making.
But senior leaders such as Digvijaya Singh are keen to see Rahul on top. In fact Singh has already said, "Rahul should be prime minister."
Sonia has groomed Rahul for the top job and he was appointed general secretary in 2007.
Rahul's growing authority was apparent during the recent reshuffle of the Council of Ministers, in which some members of Rahul's inner circle got ministerial berths.
After the surgery, Sonia will be away for three weeks but it could be longer before she is back to work. But, it remains to be seen if she takes over the duty of party President again or leaves Rahul solely in charge.

DMK vows to continue protest over arrests

The state-wide agitation by the DMK to protest action against party workers in alleged land-grabbing cases led to brief detention of partymen across the state on Monday. The DMK leadership has vowed to continue their protests against what they called "foisting" of cases against party workers over allegations of usurping land.

Protests were held in different parts of the state as per the party's decision that was ratified at its recent general council meeting at Coimbatore. Among those who courted arrest today was DMK treasurer MK Stalin.

The total number of DMK workers who were briefly detained across the state was not available. "There were not too many technical arrests", Tamil Nadu ADGP for law and order, S George told ET.

While police said arrests were made for staging demonstrations without permission, DMK leaders said the Jayalalithaa government was indulging in "political vendetta", and was preventing democratic protests. "When the DMK was in power, there were no restrictions on such demonstrations, and we allowed the opposition to hold protests. We now plan to continue our agitation and fill prisons with our partymen", Stalin said in reaction to the police action against today's agitation.

A number of DMK leaders have been arrested in recent days on charges of land-grabbing. The most prominent among them include former agriculture minister and DMK's Salem strongman Veerapandi S Arumugam, and MLA J Anbazhagan.

The government contention is that the special police cells set up across different districts are only acting on the basis of complaints received from people regarding usurping of their land or property.

The DMK is under particular strain in the south of the state, where a number of associates of MK Alagiri, south zone co-ordinator of the party, have been arrested on charges of land grabbing. Among those who have been arrested are former MLA G Thalapathi, 'Pottu' Suresh, Krishna Pandi, Kodi Chandrasekharan and S Mohammed Ibrahim, all of who are known to be close associates of Alagiri.

Cong dares Hazare to contest from Chandni Chowk

The Congress on Monday dared social activist Anna Hazare to contest from Chandni Chowk Lok Sabha constituency after the civil society released findings of a survey which said 85 per cent people there favoured the civil society's version of the Lokpal Bill as compared to the one prepared by the government.

"I have heard about his survey... Lok Sabha polls will be held in 2014. (Hazare) can contest from Chandni Chowk. Truth will come out clearly," party spokesperson Manish Tiwari told reporters.

Replying to questions on the findings of the survey, Tiwari said that whether it is a survey or not, there cannot be tinkering with the structure of the constitution.

Hazare's team carried out a survey on Lokpal bill in Chandani Chowk represented by Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal, saying the survey had been done in Sibal's constituency as he was 'the government face of Lokpal bill'.

Arvind Kejriwal, a member of Team Hazare, on Monday said initial results of the opinion poll showed that 85 per cent people favoured the Jan Lokpal bill.

Tiwari said Hazare and his friends should have "faith in the wisdom and discretion of Parliament" once the government places the Lokpal Bill in the House.
